Tags: gold coast truck in river heavy recovery
Ben Dillaway | June 20th, 2010
A RECOVERY operation is underway to retrieve a truck from the Coomera River.
The truck rolled into the river about 12pm after it was driven to the edge of the Coomera Watersports Club boat ramp to jump-start a boat's flat battery.
''I jumped out of the way and away it went,'' said the truck driver who declined to give his name.
''Once it was in there it just floated, the tide must have been running out,'' he said.
''It's nose came around then it stopped.''
A heavy-duty tow truck tried to pull the truck from the water but stopped when it began to be dragged down the boat ramp.
A second heavy-duty tow truck has arrived on scene with both working together to pull the truck from the water.
