Do you remember on the old site that we were havng trouble with the quackers room because the new flash upgrades were breaking it? We had to hit the enter key to get the text to display?

Well, as all good things come to an end, so do many of the old problems. One of the reasons we had to move from TowTalk was the fact that technology was leaving us behind. Just like in towing, if you don't keep up with the Jones's technology wise, you get left in the dust.

This new site takes advantage of many new technologies. One of those technologioes is Flash. We use a LOT of flash here. The videos are compressed using flash, the uploaders are flash based, both the chat rooms are flash as well as the video commenting and the forums. Because of this, it is necessary to update your systems to make proper use of this site.

Go to http://www.adobe.com and install the latest flash players for each browser that you use. Currently, it is version 10.0.45.2. I am making this the official version required to properly display this site. This will solve 95% of your issues using this site. If you are still having trouble, send me a note with your OS and the browser you are using and I'll see if I can help you resolve it.

OK, its veeery cool.  And I agree that towers need to modernize and get into the loop.

BUT, for us non-techie types, it's a hard road.

Blackberries, Droids, iPhones etc. are just trendy toys for those of us that think a cell phone should just mean a telephone that works anywhere.  Blogs and chats and IM-ing are amusing, webmail and sync'ing apps and texting and sexting and video mail are all foolishly fun to explore, but none are an integral part of our towing lives.

Doesn't mean they shouldn't be, just means they aren't. So be patient with those of us that don't consider electronic devices to be actual body parts.  We don't see what it has to do with towing; rather, we kinda feel like the time spent on gadgets or the internet is just wasted time that we should be using more productively. Intellectually, we might know it can help us be more productive in the long run, but in the short run, it just feels like screwing off.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks, call me old fashioned, but what does any of this have to do with towing cars or driving a truck?
