New ideas and new things to learn. I got a call from one of my members today, a young man that does junk. He tells me that I'm like a father to him but he had to let me know he HATES the new site. He wants to go back to the old ways. They were simpler and easier to understand. I thought about that for about 30 seconds and even though he had a point, I had already made the decision to create this new site and i wasn't turning back now. I'm sorry my son but I am forcing you to learn something new.

Why? Because without growth, there can be no life. They have a name for it when you stop trying. It's called 'retirement'. To me, 'retirement' is just a long way to spell 'death'

Having said that, today I am forcing you all to learn something new. Once you see just how easy it is, you'll wonder why you ever doubted me. You do trust me to not take you where you can't succeed don't you? Well, .... I don't care. I'm taking you there anyway.

I want to SEE who I am talking to and I want to HEAR who I am talking to and on this site, both of those things are entirely possible. They are not only possible, they are EASY!

Using media server technology, I have enabled video chat and video conferencing throughout this site. How many of you have a laptop with a built in webcam? How many of you have one of those $10 web cams that you can click to your monitor so your grandchildren can see and talk to you over the internet? Cool. If you don't, go to WhaleMart, ask the old lady at the front door where the webcams are and I guarantee you she'll be able to point them out. Go buy one.

Plug them into your USB port, then open the main chat window. In the bottom right hand corner, you will see your avatar. On the left side of that avatar, you will see a series of buttons. Hover your mouse over the little arrows and click the one that says 'cast video' If you have a sound capable webcam, then click the little arrow that says 'cast audio' and voila! You are video chatting! (if a little window pops up and asks you if you want to enable flash, click 'allow')

Now, not only can you do video conferencing using this tool with anyone that has a cam, you can leave video comments to all the blog posts and profile comment fields, even the wall and boards. It's time for a snipe hunt! Go find all the video links and give them a shot. It's so easy my grandmother can do it!
