RSS (which stands for Really Simple Syndication) is a powerful tool on the internet. It is supported by most browsers. It allows you to subscribe to specific feeds of changing information and it allows search engines to very easily get content and dish it out in a reasonable manner on sites Like Google, MSN news, etc.

So what you say? Well, we use it to help get this site noticed. because of all the different 'feeds' we are indexed by Google alone hundreds of times a day. If you have a company website, you can ride piggyback on that indexing to get your site noticed as well. As an example, Google rates pages by who is looking at them. How important your site may be is measured by how many other sites are linking to it. By adding your site here, not only are you linking to us increasing our importance, you are also linking our site to yours for exactly the same reason.

TowTalk was a good site but in the scheme of things, it was no where near the biggest. Ever wonder why anytime you Googled 'towing forums' TowTalk always seemed to be on the first page and most of the time, it was in the number one slot? That was because we made an effort to maximize our SEO (search engine optimization).

site menuAdding your site to TowNation is a breeze. Go to this menu item and click on 'sites'. This will take you to the main websites screen. This page displays all the current sites on TowNation. In the upper right hand corner you will find a button that says 'My Sites'. Click that button to be taken to your site page.

This will open a new screen with a small box for the url to your site. In this box, type the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of your website. Do not enter the http or the www, just type 'mysite.com'.

Click on the 'submit' button once you've entered the site. This next step might take a couple minutes. The site page is now visiting your site and creating a thumbnail image of your front page. Just be patient.

Once it completes that task, a new page will open. On this page, you will enter all the information about your site. You should see a link box with the current site URL already in it, the title field which should also be populated, a description box and below that a thumbnail image of your site.

If you do not see the thumbnail image, click your refresh browser button to reload the page and it should appear. If you have a custom image you want to use instead, you can use the 'browse' button to find the image on your machine and upload it to the forum.

That's pretty much it. Fill in all the details as you want, then click the submit button to load it all onto TowNation and you should be able to see it immediately on the front page.

Good Job! I knew you could do it!
