If you are reading this blog then you've been here long enough to want to know more about the new TowNation. That's great! In this post, you will find a quick outline of all the features we now offer. I don't think I would be lying if I told you that you have just run across the most powerful towing & reocovery community anywhere on the internet today. We are truly an International portal for all things towing. Because of that, there is a bit of a learning curve. Take some time, read through this stuff and don't be afraid to play around in the features that interest you. My endeavor here was to make a friendly portal that creates interest for everyone from the person who has trouble finding the on/off switch to the most advanced tower/geek/coders on the planet. Ads. - Much like Craigslist, this is a very user friendly place where you can sell just about anything from dispatching services to parts for your trucks. Even though this is a towing site, it is quite alright to post your yard sale ads for all those things you want to get rid of. Bicycles, lawn mowers, chess sets, it really doesn't matter. Once you have been designated TG, you're all set to go. Just go to the Ads section and click on 'My Ads' and follow the instructions.

 Articles - The articles section is a glorified blog section. As a member of TowNation, you will not have access to post to the Articles section. If you wish to have an article posted on TowNation, you will have to submit the article in .doc format for review. if approved, the article will be added and featured on the front page for all to see for a month. As a member though, you will have access to the articles section where you can search and read all articles ever submitted. After ther site has built up a bit of a library, you will find it a great informational resource.

 Blogs - RSS feed enabled. Fancy yourself a writer? This is the place. The blogs on TowNation are full featured. You can create a blog that's like an article and not allow comments or allow them and create discussions on specific topics. You can even allow members to leave video comments on your creation. You can control which member types can leave comments or lock them out completely. You can allow or disallow ratings and even decide who specifically you want to be able to view your blog posts. A very powerful tool to make yourself heard.

 Boards - Like standing in a bathroom wishing you had something to write on the wall with! A full featured editor that allows you to draw pictures, post weird sized text and just be creative scribbling 'on the board'. You can also post sound files and videos to the board for others to see. Let us see your creative side! You'll be amazed at where your scribblings will show up at in the new TowTalk. Go play with it, you'll become addicted....

 Quackers Room & Main Chat - Just like our old home on TowTalk. The Quackers room is available from the front page as a small chatbox with which to shout out to other members and the main chat, capable of handling 100 or more people easily with full features like unlimited text colors, the ability to build private, password protected rooms for you and your friends or members that are away from prying eyes, video conferencing, Private chats, etc .. All features are supported through our Ray media server making them very robust and not easily overcome. You will find them to be the cornerstone of our site like they have always been. You have to be TG approved to use either room.

 Events - Wow, what a feature. This is one powerful event screen. You have an event that needs to be promoted? This is the place. A full featured editor allows you to build your event announcement any way you wish. You can use photos, videos, files and sound files in the creation of your event. You can even decide who can join your event subscriptions list, who can view or interact with your event, and even a way to sell tickets to your event and collect the money if you wish. Your association putting on a tow show? make use of our event calendar to promote it within our industry!

 Files - Upload files to your account and make them available to other members. .doc files, text files, well, files of any type can be uploaded, stored and catalogued for your use. You decide if you want to make them public and exactly who will have access to download them. A file library.

 Groups - The most powerful new feature of TowNation and the feature responsible for the new name! Groups. You can create and administer groups of people with like interests, You can make them private or public, whichever suits your needs. Create whole subsections of our community that have specific goals or interests. You can allow or disallow anyone within your created group, even hold group meetings in the main chat areas. In fact, the group permissions system is installed throughout the code for TowNation making it possible to use group designations in hundreds of different ways! All it takes is a little imagination and you could even build your own community right here within the walls of TowNation!

 News - The TowNation news section. This section will be administered by the News mod. Each day, the net will be gleaned for towing related news stories and those stories posted here for your perusal. The news mod has full search features as well as most popular. top rated and tagged storeis to make finding past articles a breeze as well as making it possible to keep up on the latest news on the site and on your IPhone or Andriod capable phone.

 Polls - Much more powerful than the old site. TG rated members will have the ability to create polls within TowNation about any topic whatsoever. Much better and more exact poll counting has been enabled.

 Sites - This was something I carried over from the old site. We used to call it the WTC. it was cumbersome and hard to use and because of that, it never really gained acceptance. Not anymore. The sites feature here will allow you to upload your websites including images and fully descriptive text with ease right from your dashboard. Want it to look like your site? Just hit 'control/print screen' and an image of your site will be automatically taken from your clipboard and placed in the ad! From there, you can build your ad with just a couple clicks of your mouse. The Sites ad feature is fully RSS enabled meaning search engines will easily be able to catalog it dramatically increasing your internet exposure!
